Who is Wicked K Killington?
Wicked K Killington is a legendary warrior figure within the Darksiders universe, known more through implication and encounter design than direct storytelling. He appears not only in Darksiders 1, but across the entire Darksiders franchise, in each game. And unlike major bosses tied to the main narrative, Wicked K exists as a pure test of skill, deliberately hidden from casual progression. In short, Wicked is an optional boss but one of the most challenging one.
Wicked K is not introduced through cutscenes, quests, or dialogues. Instead, he appears as a sudden ambusher, a silent challenger meant for players who explore thoroughly and understand combat mechanics. In many ways, he functions as a hidden Easter egg. He is an Easter egg of sort.
From a design perspective, Wicked K represents:
- A classic secret boss archetype
- A punishment for careless exploration
- A reward for mastery of dodging, spacing, and timing
If you ask me, Wicked K Killington exists to answer just one question, How well do you really understand combat in Darksiders?

All Wicked K Killington Locations in Darksiders
Below are the exact areas where Wicked K Killington appears.
1. Anvils Ford – Wicked K Hidden Encounter
After WAR and Ulthane kill all the angels in the Anvil's Ford, and you reach a point where you must jump across a chasm to reach Ulthane. Wicked K can be found there, on the other side, at the west side edge, near the end of a path. You need to enter the area near the tree in front of the Abyssal Chain swinging spot.
Important:
Wicked K will only spawn here after you have entered The Hollow (Griever's Lair) for the first time.
2. Choking Grounds – Wicked K Ambush
He can be found in the cemetery area of the Choking Grounds, very near to the Vulgrim location. You need to look for a three large tombs/graves south of Vulgrim's location. Once found drag the middle tomb backwards and it will reveal a hidden underground chamber, here the encounter takes place. An artifact can also be found in this chamber.
The Choking Grounds encounter is more aggressive due to close spacing and worst camera angels.
3. Drowned Pass – Wicked K Secret Spawn
In the Drowned Pass, after the Tormented Gate, enter the sewer pipe located to the south-east. Inside is a chamber, it will be filled with demons when you first enter it. To trigger Wicked K you need to return here later after freeing the gate guardian.
Important:
Wicked Killington spawns only after you enter Anvil's Ford for the first time, you have to return to this location in the Drowned Pass in order to find him.
4. Twilight Cathedral – Final Wicked K Encounter
This encounter is commonly missed. In the Twilight Cathedral exterior area, exit Vulgrim's portal and move to the right (southern side) until you reach a chasm with a visible chest on the opposite side. Now use the Abyssal Chain to swing across. Two Duskbats attack immediately on the other side, means you are on the correct path. Proceed right next to the chest, into the nearby cave, with the red cracked floor, get inside and you will encounter Wicked K Killington.
