In Darksiders 2, when Death travels to Earth in search of the Rod of Arafel, he encounters Uriel and her remaining angels. During this chapter, Uriel asks Death to free her fallen Hellguard angels who are trapped and suffering across the ruined city on Earth.
There are 10 Trapped Angels in total. To complete the 'Light of the Fallen' side quest, you must locate and release every one of them.
So, where can you find all the Trapped Angels? This guide shows the exact locations of all ten Hellguards so you don't miss any.
How to Free the Trapped Hellguards and Complete the Mission "Light of the Fallen"
Each Hellguard is bound to a wall or structure. To free them, simply attack them using your scythes or any ranged weapon, such as Mercy or Redemption. This will release them and end their suffering. No special item is required.

Trapped Angel #1
The first Hellguard fallen angel is located right after your first encounter with the Suffering. When you exit the first building, look toward the building on your left. The first Hellguard is nailed to the wall and is very easy to spot.
Trapped Angel #2
The second Hellguard can be found very soon after the first one. When you descend into the subway-like underground area, go down the stairs and look to your right.
Trapped Angel #3
The third trapped Hellguard is also in the same underground structure and very close to the second one. Go further down the stairs and take the left path. Then look to your right. The third fallen angel is attached to the wall nearby.

Trapped Angel #4
The fourth Hellguard can be found while searching for the second part of the Rod. After defeating the Suffering, stop at the bridge area and look to your right toward another bridge, right before the billboard that says "JUNK." The fourth angel is nailed to the wall. You can shoot it from here or even go near it, to the other side.
Trapped Angel #5
The fifth Hellguard can be found right before the battle with the first Noss, before you jump down to the battle area.
When you exit the final building, walk forward a few steps and then turn around. This Hellguard is nailed to the building next to the one you just exited. Look high to your right, at the very top of the building.
This one can be easily missed because of its high location.
Trapped Angel #6
The sixth Hellguard is located in the underground tunnel. When you reach the blocked road and take the side path, you will see Salvation lying there, that you queue. Keep going and move toward the end of that corner. The sixth Hellguard is there.

Trapped Angel #7
The seventh Hellguard is in the second underground tunnel, in the area where you encounter the Suffering. After you deal with him, take the additional pathway to the right, which leads to a side passage. You will find the seventh fallen angel inside this passage.
Trapped Angel #8
The eighth Hellguard can be found while you search for the third part of the Rod. Right after the second Noss battle, don't go to the bridge yet. Instead, go straight to the end of the broken road. At the edge, look down to your left. There is the eighth fallen angel.

Trapped Angel #9
The ninth Hellguard can be found on the upper part of the bridge, where the third and final Noss fight took place. Once you deal with the third Noss, look back at the bridge pillars. The Hellguard is tied to the top of the right pillar.
Trapped Angel #10
The tenth and final Hellguard is found inside the last ruined building before returning to Uriel. After collecting all three parts of the Rod and heading back through the ruined buildings, stop before jumping down into the area where the angels are gathered. Turn around and look to your right. The tenth Hellguard is there at the end of the corner.
Quest Completion & Reward
After freeing all ten Hellguards, return to Uriel and let her know that you have completed the mission by selecting the dialogue option "Your angels suffer no more."
As a reward, you receive the unique weapon Sunder from Uriel.

This elegant weapon, Sunder, recalls the grace and power of its original owner, an angel guardian of the White City. Sunder creates a protective orb around its wielder that mitigates the damage dealt by enemies.
