What's up, everyone!
Ever wish you could just skip all the grind and get your hands on unlimited Souls in Darksiders or Darksiders Warmastered Edition?
You are in the right place.
Today we are going to look at three super easy ways to farm all the Souls you could ever want in DS1.
3 Tricks to Get Unlimited Souls + Weapon EXP in Darksiders 1 or Warmastered
These aren't just soul farming tricks. But they also help you level up your weapons by Gaining Weapon EXP, bringing you to unlocking the Battle Hardened achievement trophy.
Become completely overpowered while stacking Souls.
Let's dive into the 3 easiest soul farming + weapon levelling tricks in the Darksiders 1.
#1:
The Ashlands – Phantom Riders Farm
Requirement: Ruin (Wars Steed)
To start, go to The Ashlands (Chapter 3).
At the very beginning of the desert area, there is a Chronosphere high above the entrance. That's your starting point.
Summon Ruin and head left towards the area with an entrance in the rock (see the image below). Cross it. You will see two Phantom Riders on the way. Ignore them, don't engage.
Look for a wooden structure with a large hole and bottom filled with water (see the pic below). That's your farming trigger.
How the Phantom Riders Soul Farming Trick Works
- Jump into the water (on the wooden structure you just have found).
- Climb the Demonic Growth back up.
- Jump back into the water again.
- Rinse and repeat.
Every time you jump into the hole into the water, two more Phantom Riders spawn.
Repeat this until you have around 20–30 Riders.
Then summon Ruin and lure all the Phantom Riders into the nearby cave-like structure. Attack and wipe them out there. Or you can simply attack them in the open desert. But luring them into the nearby cave-like structure makes it easy to kill them all quickly. Fighting them inside that enclosed space is faster than fighting in the open desert.
Soul Count of Phantom Riders
With around 20 Riders (as shown in the video), I got 2,860 Souls. That's about 150 Souls per Rider. Now you know how many Riders you need depending on your goal.
Just don't overdo the Riders spawn count, it may risk crashing the game. I personally not exceed more than 30 Riders, 20–30 is the safe range.

#2:
Iron Canopy – Spiders Respawn Loop
Requirement: None
Next stop, Iron Canopy (Chapter 4), the room filled with small spiders just before Silitha's lair. This method is pure action. No wandering, just combat and farming.
Wait, before you go and become a killing machine, must change your Weapon Attachments first.
To Acquire maximum Souls:
- Equip Death's Blessing (best option)
- Or use Reaper
For Weapon EXP farming:
- Use Glory of War
- Or Combat Lore
These Attachments increase weapon experience gain for whatever weapon they're attached to.
Back to Spider Respawn Loop.
Here is how Darksiders Spider Respawn Loop works for Unlimited Souls
- Enter the room.
- Kill all spiders.
- Exit the room far enough so the game fully resets it (see the image below).
- Re-enter.
- All spiders respawn.
Repeat as long as you want. This method is strong because of Infinite spiders respawns, tight combat space, fast kills and massive Weapon EXP stacking.
You can level up the Scythe, Chaoseater, Gauntlet or Harvester, any of your weapon here.
Max all weapons and you unlock the Battle Hardened trophy/achievement (as long as all combat moves are also purchased from Vulgrim).
If you love pure action while farming Souls, this next method is just for you.
#3:
Black Throne – Infinite Undead Soldiers
Requirement: None
This method is more about Weapon Exp gain rather than Soul Farming. Why? Will explain shortly.
When you reach the Black Throne in Darksiders 1, you chase the beams to free Azrael. During the third Beam sequence (after destroying the second head), you will be ambushed by a seemingly endless wave of super-powerful enemies in 3 stages.
Stage 1:
- 1 Undead Shield Lord
- 1 Rot-Mauler
Stage 2:
- 1 Undead Shield Lord
- 4 Undead Soldiers
Stage 3:
- 2 Undead Shield Lords
Here we are interested in the stage two only. You just need to stay alive in the stage two for as long as you can without killing the Undead Shield Lord.
How the Infinite Undead Soldiers Loop Works
Here is the trick. Kill only the 4 Undead Soldiers, do NOT kill the Shield Lord. When you kill all the 4 Undead Soldiers, then 4 more will respawn. They will keep spawning infinitely as long as their general is alive.
Ok, so as I mentioned earlier,
Why This is More Weapon EXP Than Soul Farming
Its because, each Undead Soldier gives you only 10 Souls. So this is less about raw Soul farming and more about leveling up weapons fast.
My advise, during this combat, when things get rough, when you are about to lose control. Use Wraith abilities (Blade Geyser works well). Clear stage two and use Chaos Form for Stage three. Chaos Form helps a lot if you are almost out of health like I was (checkout the video).
This method favors players who enjoy pure combat rather than tricks.
BONUS Tip – Kill Wicked K for 2,000 Souls
The secret boss Wicked K appears in multiple locations. Find him, kill him fast. You will earn 2,000 Souls in 2–5 minutes or less (depends upon how fast you can beat him). Killing Wicked K for first 2 times awards 1,000 souls and rest last 2 times 2,000 souls. So don't miss this opportunity to get this much amount of souls the fast way.
If you want all his locations, here is a separate full text guide + video covering that.
